Retirees Council
Retired members of CWA Canada have become elder activists on a host of issues including pensions, benefits and social security. They also get together for social activities, renew relationships with former colleagues and work in conjunction with other unions and community groups to advance mutual goals.
The CWA Canada Retirees Council is affiliated with the Congress of Union Retirees and the Ontario Federation of Union Retirees. Together they track government legislation that affects retirees and engage in federal, provincial and municipal political action on behalf of retirees.
Any CWA Canada retiree or dues-paying member who has reached age 55 is eligible (along with his or her partner) to join the Council at a cost of $20 annually. Some Locals are paying first-year memberships for new retirees so please check with your Local before you pay.
Members can take advantage of benefits and discounts offered through the Union Savings program.
